Bringing your thoughts back to your true
being – your spirit.
“It is important you stop handing over your power to meditation teachers, guides, etc with the thought they know more about how to ‘find yourself’ than you do. The teachers and guides will point to the moon but you are the only one that can make the journey for you to arrive there. The journey is one of introspection and self-discovery not about following the same path of others as yours is a different journey and a different path. This is also true in your meditation practice or class – what happens within you is a hundred percent yours. There are enough people in the outside world putting their ideologies onto you – let your journey inwards be guided by your own inner intelligence it knows what is best for you.”
Spirit makes use of the mind as a means to find its expression – and the mind that serves the spirit is at peace and filled with joy. Its power comes from spirit, and it is fulfilling happily its function here. Yet when the mind sees itself as separate from spirit and it has lost its connection to spirit it becomes confused and fearful. When your mind separates from spirit – your source of strength can no longer be reached – and you start to feel this sense of smallness – contraction and weakness. You feel alone and separate from your deep inner self – open for attack at any stage – ready to defend yourself from anything this world may throw your way.
This is why you must STOP at least once a week – do something that brings you stillness – meditation – a long walk – a swim in the ocean, anything that can lead you gently back to your inner soul – your spirit. Regain your strength – remember salvation can only ever come from one’s self.
In these still, quiet moments, seek your spirit’s thoughts; these are your own real thoughts you have denied. Here are your true thoughts, the only ones you have. Salvation is among them: find it there. You will welcome ‘you’ and give ‘you’ peace. It will restore your strength. You will again flow out from spirit to the spirit in all things created by the spirit as itself. Your mind will bless all things. Fear – disappointment- worry – anger will dissolve once you have found yourself again.
Each time you stop and find stillness your frantic mind will settle and slowly the feeling will wash over you that salvation resides right there within. Practice this in your mediation today for it will bring your mind from conflict to the quiet fields of peace. Each time you practice this awareness is brought a little nearer. The minutes that you give in meditation are multiplied over and over.
